In God's Infinite Grip

This week felt like one of those “Octopus Attack” weeks—the kind where the enemy seems to have tentacles wrapped around every corner of my life. I was pulled, stretched, and tested from every angle. In my frustration, I cried out to God.

And that’s when it hit me. As I poured out my complaints—grumbling about the devil’s octopus-like grip—I had a revelation. I realized I was behaving like someone who had no hope as if my God wasn’t infinitely stronger than my troubles.

Then the truth dawned on me: while the enemy has only a few tentacles, God has no limit to His reach. In that moment, I saw the Lord with countless hands, and I heard Him say, “I have ‘infinite tentacles’, Shyann. I can bless and restore every part of your life—your family’s, your friends’, your neighbor’s, even a stranger’s—all at the same time.”

Suddenly, the enemy’s many attacks didn’t seem so overwhelming. My focus shifted to God’s unmatched power. I was reminded of Psalm 95:4: “In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him.” And I remembered that I am precious in His eyes, as Isaiah 62:3 says: “You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.”

The reality is simple: the enemy can never overpower our God. No matter how many tricks the devil has up his sleeve, God is always sovereign, always undefeated—the true heavyweight champion. So, rest in His unfailing love. Rest in His promise to fight for us. Rest in His unwavering protection. He will perfect everything that concerns us, His beloved children.

God bless you.
