Kadosh - Our God is Holy!

The Hebrew word “Kadosh” means “holy” or “set apart.” It reminds us of God’s unmatched purity and perfection. At a recent conference, I heard the song Kadosh. As I engaged in worship, I could feel the Holy Spirit moving in and through the atmosphere, saturating the space with His presence. When I returned home, I was led to research the word and its significance for believers in Christ.

In Isaiah 6:3, the angels cry out:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.”

This triple declaration emphasizes God’s absolute otherness—He is perfect, without sin, and exalted above all creation.

God’s holiness demands a response. Leviticus 11:44 reminds us:

“I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.”

As believers, being holy means being set apart for God’s purposes, allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our lives to reflect His character.

1 Peter 1:15-16 calls us to action:

“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy because I am holy.’”

Holiness isn’t about perfection but about surrendering daily to Christ and living in a way that glorifies Him.

Reflection

When I first heard the song Kadosh at the conference, I was overwhelmed by the presence of the Holy Spirit. In that sacred moment, I realized how set apart and perfect our God truly is. Researching the word Kadosh deepened my understanding of God’s call for us to live holy lives—not by striving for perfection but by surrendering to His Spirit. Holiness is not about being flawless; it’s about being devoted to God, letting His light shine through us so that others can see His glory.

Take time today to reflect on areas where God might be calling you to be set apart for Him. How can you align your life with His holiness? Let Him guide you into deeper intimacy with Him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

You are Kadosh—holy and set apart, worthy of all honor and praise. Thank You for revealing Your holiness and calling us to reflect it. Help us dedicate our hearts and actions to You, aligning our lives with Your will.

Lord, cleanse us of anything that hinders our walk with You. May Your Spirit continue to move in and through us as You refine us to be holy. We echo the words of Isaiah 6:3: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.” May our lives declare Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
