I recently encountered a quote that deeply resonated: “I finally found my rhythm when I realized that every step backward was part of the dance.” It led me to reflect on the many moments in my life that felt like setbacks—times when I believed I was losing ground. Yet, those were not missteps; they were pauses of divine preparation. God wasn’t pushing me back but sheltering me, preparing me for what lay ahead. Now, in hindsight, I can see that each step—whether backward, forward, or seemingly still—was part of a grand choreography, perfectly orchestrated to bring me to where I am today.
As I contemplate the Massey’s departure and reflect on the past three years at Cooper City Church of God, it feels like we have been part of an intricate waltz with the Lord. There have been moments when it felt like we were stepping backward—losing our beloved pastor, facing divisions within the congregation—but then God blessed us with the Massey’s, who led us to new heights we never imagined. Now, with their departure, it feels like another unexpected turn in this divine dance. Yet, in these moments of uncertainty, I am reminded that God remains the Master Choreographer, faithfully guiding our every step. His promises never falter, and His rhythm never misses a beat.
I am filled with anticipation for the next movement in this sacred dance. Whether it’s an Argentine Tango, a Foxtrot, or a Swing, I trust that whatever comes next will be nothing short of extraordinary—for both the Massey’s and Cooper City Church of God.
So, if you find yourself in a season where it feels like life has you taking steps forward only to be pulled back, I encourage you to embrace the entire dance. Keep moving, even when the steps seem confusing or the rhythm feels off. Trust that God is orchestrating every motion, and soon the beauty of the dance will unfold. Cherish each step, knowing that every movement—whether swift, slow or still—has its place in God’s perfect design.
Meditation Scripture
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
This devotion is dedicated to my Cooper City Church of God Family and the Massey’s.
