Don’t we all know that God doesn’t do easy asks? If He did, Noah would have built a canoe instead of an ark, Moses would have parted a puddle instead of the Red Sea, and Jonah would have just taken a short detour instead of a three-day fishy timeout. But no, God loves a challenge—and He loves stretching us even more.
About five weeks ago, I was in church, pacing the floor in deep worship, when I heard it loud and clear: “Bring me 50 Fighting Women.” It was so distinct that I nearly spun around, thinking someone had whispered in my ear. But as I glanced around, it hit me—it wasn’t a person. It was the Holy Spirit.
Okay, Lord, 50? That’s oddly specific. Couldn’t it be, say, a solid 15 or a biblical 12? But no, it had to be 50.
I closed my eyes, waiting for more instructions. Silence. Classic. Then, about a week later, during prayer, I heard the next step: “Midnight prayer meeting focused on breaking generational curses”—oh, and a gentle reminder about the 50 fighting women.
Now, let’s pause. Midnight prayer? That’s spiritual warfare prime time! The time when warriors war and the faint-hearted nap. And not just any prayer meeting, but one aimed at breaking generational curses—the deep-rooted, stubborn kind that don’t budge without a full spiritual assault. And did I mention that I still had no guarantee that 50 women would actually show up?
But obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22), so I decided to plan the meeting and let God handle the turnout. The night before, I received the prayer target areas, I started to gather 11 fearless prayer warriors to help lead, and braced myself for the battle ahead.
Then came the night. I was nervous, but backing out was not an option. At 11:30 p.m., I opened Zoom and began praying with the leaders. By midnight ET, women from all over started pouring in. But then a thought crept in:
What if 50 women don’t come? Would I have failed the Lord?
I shook off the doubt and pressed forward, leaning into Leviticus 25—the Year of Jubilee, the 50-year mark—a year of release, freedom, and restoration. As we cried out for deliverance over ourselves, our children, and our families, something nudged me: Look at the numbers.
By midnight CST, the Zoom count was at 49. My heart raced. Then, it ticked up—50. Then 51. Then—back to 50.
And there it sat.
50 Fighting Women.
We prayed until 5 a.m., contending for our breakthroughs, believing that chains were breaking and that heaven was moving on our behalf. And then came the bonus revelation—the Holy Spirit had sent exactly 50 women and 1 man. (Apparently, we got an extra intercessor. Hey, I’ll take it!)
That night, God reminded me that when we walk in obedience, He takes care of the results. Just like Abraham, who climbed the mountain in obedience to sacrifice Isaac, only to find God had already provided a ram (Genesis 22:13), we must trust that when He calls us, He will provide what we need.
The 50 Fighting Women weren’t just a number—they were a testimony of divine precision and faithfulness. I believe that each woman who showed up will walk in freedom, favor, and a new level of faith. Because when God calls us to something, He doesn’t just show up—He shows off.
So, if God gives you an assignment that seems impossible, remember this: Do your part and let Him do the rest. You might just find yourself in awe of His perfect provision.
